Children Process  

Step 1-Book a Pre-Assessment 

Schedule an appointment here 

You will receive an appointment date within seven days. The initial assessment is conducted online with a parent or guardian present. Contact options include email or phone. 

Step 2-Carry Out Pre-Assessment Call (45 minutes) 

Participate in a 45-minute initial meeting via video call with one of our psychologists 

This meeting is designed to gather preliminary information about the child’s behavior and development. 

Information Required 

  • Parental concerns and observations 
  • Any relevant background information 

The psychologist will use this information to determine the best approach for a detailed assessment and decide if additional evaluations are needed. 

Step 3-Conduct Assessment and Diagnosis (3 hours) 

Attend an in-person meeting at our clinic with the child and parents/guardians present. 

The assessment will include the following: 

1. Parent Interview

Conduct a structured interview (e.g., ADHD Rating Scale) to gather insights on the child’s behavior at home and school. 

2. Child Cognitive Testing

Perform cognitive and neuropsychological tests to assess attention, executive functioning, and impulse control. 

3. Behavioural Observation

Use tools like the Conners’ Rating Scales to observe and evaluate behavior in different settings. 

Step 4-Receive Full Report & Support Plan (45 minutes) 

You will receive a detailed report and have a call to review the diagnostic report and support plan with the psychologist.

  • Complete diagnostic report outlining the assessment findings. 
  • Recommendations for treatment and support, including educational and behavioral strategies. 

Information on potential government benefits and support services available for the child.
